FAQ
-
What is credit repair?
Credit repair is the process of reviewing your credit reports and disputing information that is inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or can't be verified. The goal is for your reports to reflect your credit history accurately, which can help your credit profile over time.
-
How long does the credit repair process take?
Every case is different, so we can't promise a timeline. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, credit bureaus generally must investigate a dispute within about 30 days (in some cases up to 45). How many dispute rounds you need, and what the outcome is, depends on your reports and on how bureaus and creditors respond. We'll keep you updated through your client portal along the way.
-
Will signing up hurt my credit score?
No. Signing up and reviewing your credit reports through a monitoring service is a "soft" inquiry and does not affect your credit scores. Disputing information on your reports does not lower your scores either.
-
Is credit repair legal?
Yes. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), you have the right to dispute inaccurate or incomplete information on your credit reports. Credit repair companies are regulated by the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) and, in Florida, by the Credit Service Organizations Act. You can also dispute errors yourself, directly with the credit bureaus, at no cost.
-
Why isn't credit repair one-size-fits-all?
Your credit story is unique, so your plan should be too. Cookie-cutter templates don't fix real problems. At Ignite Credit Group, we personalize every strategy to your goals, your report, and your timeline, because your journey deserves more than a generic approach.
-
What kinds of items can you dispute?
We can help dispute late payments, collections, charge-offs, repossessions, bankruptcies, inquiries, and other items when they appear inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unverifiable. Accurate, current, and verifiable information can't be legally removed from your credit report. Accurate negative information generally stays on your report for up to 7 years, and bankruptcies for up to 10.
-
Can you guarantee results?
No. No company can guarantee a specific outcome, score increase, or the removal of any item. What we promise is to work diligently, honestly, and ethically on your behalf.
-
How much does it cost?
We explain our credit repair fee in writing before you sign anything. We do not request or accept any payment for credit repair until (1) the time period we told you the services would take has ended, and (2) we have given you a credit report from a credit bureau showing the promised results, issued more than six months after those results were achieved. If those results are not achieved, you owe us nothing for credit repair. To work with us, you will need a credit monitoring subscription from MyFreeScoreNow, a separate company. It costs $29.95/month, requires a credit card, is billed by MyFreeScoreNow, and can be cancelled with them at any time. Ignite Credit Group receives a $12.80 referral payment when you enroll.
-
Can I cancel?
Yes. You may cancel your contract without penalty or obligation within 5 days after you sign it by emailing ignitecreditgroup@gmail.com. After that, you may cancel at any time, and because we do not charge until results are achieved and verified, you will not owe any credit repair fee for results that have not been delivered. Credit monitoring must be cancelled separately with MyFreeScoreNow.
-
Do you help with identity theft?
Yes. If you see accounts or inquiries you don't recognize, we'll help you organize your documentation and dispute fraudulent items. We also recommend filing a report at IdentityTheft.gov, the FTC's official resource, and considering a fraud alert or credit freeze with the bureaus (both are free).

How do I get started?
Start online or send us a message on our Contact page. You will enroll in credit monitoring with MyFreeScoreNow ($29.95/month, billed separately by them) so we can review your reports. Then we will guide you step by step.
